On “Ignite Success,” Suzie Becker welcomes outstanding leaders to this uplifting and interesting show, filled with practical advice and tips for business professionals. This week, Suzie sits down with Anna Taylor of The Greater Sum Foundation.

Short company description:

The Greater Sum Foundation provides tools and resources that non-profit founders need to sustain their organization and realize their mission. We offer a Virtual Incubator Program (VIP) for early-stage nonprofits, with a 6-week self-paced curriculum, weekly peer chats, and an online alumni community.

How do you define success?

Broadly speaking, success is the attainment of desirable outcomes. Assuming that the same outcomes are desirable to all people can be a dangerous trap. Knowing which outcomes you’re working towards and which are less relevant means that you’ll direct your energy towards what matters most.

One thing I love about working with early-stage nonprofits is helping leaders define what success looks like for their organization; clients served, access expanded, etc.

If you could be remembered for one thing, what would it be?

I’d like to be remembered as someone who brought laughter and comfort to those around me.

How has your business changed in the past 12 months?

We’ve gone back to in-person meetings, which has been an interesting process with some stops and starts.

We’ve doubled the number of non-profits we serve per year, and ensured that we have the capacity to serve even more in the future.

We’ve partnered with the Aspen Institute to provide an online class on starting a nonprofit through their Weave Learning Center.

What are your biggest goals in the next 12 Months for your business?

Increase the number of early-stage nonprofits going through our virtual incubator

Connect with other like-minded funders to accelerate growth of the promising practices we identify through our pitch competition

Increase the visibility of our funded nonprofits so they can reach a wider audience
