“On A Mission” showcases leaders who are going the extra mile each and every day. Each of the people we interview is on a mission to serve, inspire and educate. Our hosts highlight their impact and explore what motivates, engages and fulfills individuals and teams to be more productive, more effective, better at what they do, and happier to do it. Today our host, Morgan Allen spoke with Meredith Luckett of the Nashville Children’s Alliance.

Short company description:
The Nashville Children’s Alliance serves children who have experienced severe physical abuse, sexual abuse, or have been exposed to extreme violence. Since 1992, we’ve worked in direct partnership with the TN Dept of Children’s Services, Metro Nashville Police Dept, District Attorney’s Office, Juvenile Court, and various medical providers to ensure children receive the trauma-informed care they deserve from the moment of disclosure throughout their journey towards healing and justice. Services provided are forensic interviews, family advocacy, unlimited trauma-specialized therapy, prevention services, court education and more. All services are FREE for the children and families we serve.
What is the most important lesson you’ve learned over your career?
Be kind. Above all, be kind to everyone you meet. You never know what someone may be going through – or what connections they have within the community. Kindness will never lead you astray.
What nonprofit do you have a heart for and how do you support it?
I actually started working with NCA as a volunteer back in 2017 and served on our Young Professionals Board until I officially joined the team in early 2023. It’s a DREAM to get paid to do I job that I treasure alongside teammates who feel the same.
What’s your favorite way to get involved in the community?
Because I work for a nonprofit organization, NCA is always at the top of my mind. My role enables me to continually network and foster relationships with other nonprofit leaders, community leaders, and Nashville’s business community.
If you could be remembered for one thing, what would it be?
Not to sound redundant, but kindness. I genuinely hope everyone I meet feels welcomed, valued, and seen during our interactions.
