Beaches News, Inc., the nonprofit entity that publishes Beach Gazette, has a mission to provide independent, fact-based journalism for the Beaches community of Northeast Florida.
Beach Gazette is an independent, community-owned publication. It launched in June 2026 to ensure those who live, work, and play in the Beaches community have access to local news to stay engaged and informed.
What was the biggest obstacle you had to overcome in your business?
Getting our name out into the community.
How did you get started in your field of work?
This was my undergraduate major. Looking at the current state of news, and that there was a newly created news desert at the Beaches, a media entity was needed so residents knew what was happening in their community.
Tell me a time you failed forward and what you learned from the experience
Approaching situations using logic when speaking to emotions and be deferential would have achieved my goals.
What are your biggest obstacles and barriers to success?
Self doubt. It took a long time to find my voice.
What is the proudest moment of your leadership career?
Speaking up for others when they are unable to (for a whole host of reasons).
